Croatia's €60 Million Energy Support Scheme Creates New EU Compliance Requirements

On 26 October 2026, the European Commission approved Croatia's €60 million state-aid scheme for energy-intensive businesses affected by electricity costs linked to the EU Emissions Trading System. Eligible companies may receive compensation of up to 80% of qualifying indirect emissions costs, subject to efficiency and investment-related conditions under EU state-aid rules. The scheme creates opportunities for state-aid advisers, regulatory consultants and environmental compliance specialists, while HPC can support regulatory research, eligibility analysis and compliance documentation; contact HPC for a quotation.
