Georgia and Bank of China Sign Agreements to Expand Cross-Border Financial Cooperation

On 30 October, the National Bank of Georgia signed a master agreement with Bank of China covering access to the China Interbank Bond Market, alongside an ISDA framework agreement for foreign-exchange and interest-rate derivatives. The agreements expand Georgia’s access to Chinese bond-market investment channels and provide additional tools for managing financial risks; no transaction value was disclosed. Corporate-finance advisers, investors and financial institutions can explore opportunities in cross-border investment analysis, risk modelling and transaction reporting.
